A Hard Day

Yesterday was a rough day for Amy & Anna. We had an appointment with a Pediatric Cardiologist at 10AM for the murmur that the pediatrician noticed this weekend. The Cardiologist listened to it and said it was definitely more pronounced than it should be. He sent us in for an ultrasound and the official diagnosis was a Ventrical Septal Defect. Basically it is a harmless little hole that should heal itself within a year. http://www.healthline.com/adamcontent/ventricular-septal-defect
That morning, Anna also began to develop a rash all over her forehead and eyes. We made an appointment with the on-call pediatrician at 12PM that same day. Amy went to this appointment alone. Once she got into the waiting room, Anna had an explosion in her diaper that soaked through all of her clothes and onto the car seat. As Amy is cleaning her off, little Anna's cord fell off a bit premature. The pediatrician had to cauterize her belly button as she's screaming at the top of her lungs. Due to her screaming, and red face as a result, the doctor wasn't able to get a good look at the rash, but thinks it is Cradle Cap. http://dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/cradle-cap.html
It was a long and exhausting day for mom & baby. Thankfully both are getting a much needed nap now during lunch. Amy is holding up, but definitely very exhausted and overwhelmed with everything going on. We are very thankful that the murmur was not serious. Please pray for peace and rest for Amy & for healing for Anna's heart & face. THANKS!

I sent an email out yesterday at work... the Prov. staff have been sending up prayers... some of the staff responded that they were not only praying for her physical heart but also that one day that little heart would know Him as LORD and Savior!

LOVE YOU THREE!

I am so sorry your day was so hard, Amy! Not only am I nudged to pray for Madison throughout the day, but she has also served as a constant reminder for me to pray for her sweet friend Anna. I think you both are amazing parents--I know these last few days have been hard--keep relying on the Lord for His strength.

Wow, is parenting fun or what? :)

You guys are doing great, just take it one nap/feeding/trip to the doc at at time. We know it's tough, but what a great way to lay yourself down for your littlest.

We'll pray for the encouragement only the Lord can give. Let us know if we can help mommie or sweat pea.

love,

the mays
