Still at the hospital

We were supposed to check out today at 11:00 AM and head home, but we were told yesterday that we'll have to wait until Sunday. They were a bit concerned with Amy's fever and chills. Thankfully that has seemed to have departed. We are beggining to feel a bit clausterphobic in this room, but only one more day until we get to take our precious baby girl home. Little Anna is doing very well. She has been sleeping a lot, really only crying when hungry. She hasn't shown her little peepers to the grandparents yet, but hopefully today. She has her first pink outfit on as of this AM. I would post some pictures but the camera has died. More to come later. Thanks for all who have been praying and who have stopped by. If you want to visit us today, you are more than welcome. We aren't going anywhere. :) The fun part is that Kelly and Charlie Heritage are down the hall with their little girl Madison. We haven't met her yet, but hope to today!

Welcome Anna Catherine Sasser

Mom is doing fairly well although completely exhausted. She did not get a wink of sleep last night. She is still struggling with an elevated temp and obviously exhaustion. We're hoping to get a nap this afternoon.

IT'S OFFICIAL

We are parents! The delivery process came to a close at 7:46 PM.
Once we found out that Amy was ready for delivery, they waited 45 minutes to let the epidural set in. Then only 45 minutes later Amy gave birth to our beautiful little girl. I cannot begin to describe how amazing it is to see your child be born. It was one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. We certainly were not expecting to be in the hospital so early, but are so thankful that the process went so smoothly. Amy was amazing. She made it all the way to 9+ CM without pain meds. She did great and looks great as well. Thank you all for your prayers and excitement. Please do continue to pray for Amy and the baby. Amy is running a high temp and her white blood cell count is double that of what it should be.

It's Go Time!!!

The pain had become so great that we decided to get an epideral. At the last check, we were at 5 CM and a bit disappointed that it hadn't progressed much beyond that. The epidural was put in at about 5:45 and we had the nurse check immediately check after that just to be safe. Amy was at 9.5 CM and the epidural had not even been in 5 minutes. No wonder the pain had gotten so intense. They are prepping the table for delivery, etc. We're excited! Next to come a baby.

Increasing Frequency

The contractions have increased in frequency and consistency. They are 1.5 to 2 minutes apart and Amy is in a good bit of pain. She is a trooper and doing great. Little "Moe" will be here before we know it!

The water is officially broken

The doctor just came in as we were about to take a nap. He decided to go ahead and break Amy's water. He successfully accomplished that @ 1:40 PM. I didn't know that often the doctor isn't able to break it. The things you learn. All we can do is keep waiting.

The doctor wasn't kidding

The doctor really wasn't kidding when he said the baby would be coming any day. However, Amy is getting induced today. She woke up early this AM with severe contractions, chills, and vomitting. We went to the doctor's office to get checked out, only to find out Amy was still at 3 CM. She did have a temperature and the little babie's heartrate was racing at 170+ so he decided to go ahead and induce. We got here to the hospital about 10:00 where they started an IV of antibiotics and pitosin. Now we're just waiting.

And the verdict is????

Back from the doctor today.....
The staus is now 3cm dilated and 60% effaced.
According to the doctor, anyday now!
